Erling Haaland would leave Manchester City for Real Madrid tomorrow if he could.

That is according to AS in Spain.

So, what was written about Erling Haaland? Let’s take a look…

Haaland keen on Real Madrid move

Well, we’re taking this story with a huge pinch of salt – but we’ll let you draw your own conclusions.

Spanish news outlet AS believe Real Madrid remain keen on signing Haaland, and the Norway international himself is very interested in joining Los Blancos.

AS state that the Manchester City No.9 adores Spain and often travels to his house in Marbella whenever Pep Guardiola allows for some time off.

Real Madrid are supposedly focused on signing Kylian Mbappe above all else, but there is a plan within the Santiago Bernabeu about signing Haaland in 2025 once Endrick is settled.

The £400,000-a-week man has once again been prolific in front of goal this season, scoring 19 goals in just 22 appearances.

Why Manchester City fans should be sceptical

As aforesaid, we are taking this rumour with a pinch of salt – there is huge scepticism surrounding the story.

For a start, Real Madrid have already splashed £60m on the aforementioned Endrick, so it would be unlike the Spanish giants to sign another huge name in the striker department beyond Mbappe and block the Brazilian’s progress.

For all Real Madrid’s financial power, they rarely stockpile talent and block pathways.

Both financially and from a sporting view as well, we cannot envisage Haaland wanting to join a Real Madrid side who already have Endrick, Mbappe and Rodrygo Goes as central options – the competition is too fierce.

Furthermore, the Norwegian is said to be very happy at Manchester City – according to the Daily Mail – with talks set to take place soon about extending his contract, which already runs until 2027 anyway.

Therefore, we have very strong doubts about Haaland joining Real Madrid.
