It has been reported that Juventus believe that £25.6 million would be far too much of an overpay for Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte.
This comes from TuttoJuve, with a claim in April revealing that the 29-year-old was ready to leave City after a season in which he started a mere 11 Premier League games.
However, the problem for Aymeric Laporte and Manchester City is that Juventus internally believe that he is far too overpriced currently.
Juventus may pull out of Aymeric Laporte transfer due to £25.6 million fee
It seems like the plan at the Etihad Stadium is to offload the treble-winner and bring in Josko Gvardiol as his natural replacement.
But that has been easier said than done, as the Spanish international, branded as an ‘elite’ passer by OneFootball is yet to have received any ‘official offers’, as per a report in late June.
And now, it has emerged that Juventus internally believe that the £25.6 million fee slapped by Manchester City in order to sell Aymeric Laporte is one that is far too high for them.

While the Serie A giants think that the fee is ‘negotiable’, they will only ramp up their efforts for his signature at a lower price.
Manchester City should look for a different suitor
With Juventus being extremely unstable from a financial perspective, Manchester City may have to reduce their desired fee to offload Aymeric Laporte.
However, with two years left on the five-time Premier League winner’s contract, even a £25.6 million fee is far too low already for a player of his calibre in the peak of his career.
While it is likely that Laporte’s wages could also be an obstacle from any and every suitor across Europe, the Sky Blues should stick to their guns and look to sell him elsewhere.
The challenge for City is that in an ideal world, they would like to sell Aymeric Laporte imminently and bring Josko Gvardiol in, which has not been as seamless a process as one expected.
