It has been reported that Manchester City firmly believe that Erling Haaland will extend his contract beyond 2027.
This comes from the Telegraph, as the £51.2 million (The Athletic) has been linked with an eventual exit to Spain ever since his arrival.
However, it seems like Manchester City have no question marks about the fact that Erling Haaland, branded as ‘extraordinary’ by Pep Guardiola will sign a brand-new contract.
Why Manchester City are confident about Erling Haaland signing new contract
It has been previously reported that after the initial £172.5 million release clause was removed from his contract after Pep Guardiola signed a new deal, the club were keen on tying the 22-year-old down even further.
There seemed to be doubts about whether the Norwegian striker would stay for the long run at City, as his father himself admitted in the documentary, ‘Haaland: The Big Decision’ that his son aims to dominate every top league.
However, a report has emerged that claims that there is ‘confidence’ within the Manchester City camp that Erling Haaland, described as ‘elite’ by Sergio Aguero via OneFootball will sign a contract extension.

There are two reasons behind this strong belief; firstly, the club are on the verge of winning the treble and this leads on to the second point about how happy he is at the Etihad Stadium.
This feeling of satisfaction when it comes to being at City has given the club the sense that he would be happy to extend his stay beyond 2027.
Manchester City could make it near-impossible for other clubs to try to sign him
If Erling Haaland does sign a new contract, especially with no release clause currently in place, Manchester City will have the freedom to demand a world-record fee if he demands an exit one day.
The former Borussia Dortmund goalscorer seems like the favourite to win the Ballon d’Or as he may well be the current best player in the world and as he continues to improve, both his game as well as his brand will skyrocket.
Unless a suitor that is also better-placed for long-term success than Pep Guardiola’s side splashes the clash in unprecedented fashion, it will be next to impossible to get him out of Manchester City.
