It has been reported that PSG sporting director Luis Campos has offered to sell Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma to Manchester City in a swap deal to sign Bernardo Silva.

This comes from Foot Mercato, after it was claimed on Monday that Pep Guardiola’s side were open to selling him for a fee of £75 million.

However, the deal to sign Bernardo Silva may well not be all that simple for PSG, who are willing to offer Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma in exchange to get the deal done.

PSG willing to offer Marco Verratti and Gigi Donnarumma to complete Bernardo Silva transfer

It seems rather evident that the Portuguese international is on his way out of the Etihad Stadium, with Jack Grealish pleading with him to stay at City.

However, as is the policy in the case of the treble winners, while they will always let a player who aims to leave exit the club, their primary aim remains to get the best possible deal out of the situation.

It seems like PSG sporting director Luis Campos is worried that Manchester City may well reject their advances to sign Bernardo Silva, which is why they have offered the services of Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma to them.

Manchester City would likely rather receive a satisfactory fee

Even if Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma are happy to join Manchester City, surely the club would rather just bank a sizable fee if Bernardo Silva signs for PSG.

As exceptional a midfielder as Verratti is, he has simply always been an extremely injury-prone player and at 30, it is not as if his fitness will likely improve.

In the case of the Italian No.1, as talented as he is, the goalkeeping position is not a problem area for Pep Guardiola’s side.

With these factors in mind, Luis Campos would need to stump up a better offer to get the deal completed.
