It has been reported that Manchester City would be open to signing Kylian Mbappe, who looks set to leave PSG this summer.

This comes from 90 Min after it was claimed in June that Txiki Begiristain was looking to sign wingers ahead of next season.

Now, arguably the best wide forward in the world in Kylian Mbappe seems to be available and Manchester City could be unsurprisingly interested in bringing him on board.

Manchester City open to shock Kylian Mbappe transfer

Branded as a ‘genius’ by Marquinhos via GOAL, the Frenchman has been claimed to be a ‘better player’ than Erling Haaland, according to Owen Hangreaves, as relayed by the All Football App.

Widely recognized as the best player on the planet, the World Cup winner seems hell-bent on departing PSG, with Real Madrid looking the outright favorites to secure his services.

However, it has been reported that Manchester City, alongside the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool would be ‘open’ to signing Kylian Mbappe, if a deal is deemed possible.

But the 24-year-old is claimed to have showed no desire to sign for a club in the Premier League, with a host of clubs internally believing that his move to Real Madrid is ‘destined’ to come to fruition.

The potential arrival of Kylian Mbappe could force Pep Guardiola to change his tactics

Logically, no club in the world, including treble-winners Manchester City would be against the idea of signing Kylian Mbappe.

However, it is worth claiming that the French superstar is the anthesis of the current profile of winger Pep Guardiola is employing.

In Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva last season, the pair’s ball retention was their primary role in the side in order to allow City to control games and also avoid being hit on the break.

With the arrival of Mbappe, Guardiola may have to revert to his tactics during the ‘Centurions’ season, which would elevate his side ten-fold in attack but would perhaps weaken them in defence, also due to his lax off-the-ball work.
