It has been reported that Manchester City could test Inter Milan’s resolve by making an eye-watering proposal to wrap up a transfer for Nicolo Barella.
This comes from Sport Mediaset, as relayed by FC Inter News, a month after Pep Guardiola’s men were claimed to be interested in the 26-year-old’s signature.
Now, it seems Manchester City are ready to pay the big bucks to sign Nicolo Barella from Inter Milan in the summer.
Manchester City prepared to break the bank for Nicolo Barella transfer
With Ilkay Gundogan’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2023 and Bernardo Silva’s future looking far from secure, City may be in desperate need of a central midfielder.
So far, the name that has looked closest to joining the double winners is Mateo Kovacic, with Fabrizio Romano claiming last Thursday that he has agreed personal terms with the Sky Blues.
However, it has now been reported that Manchester City are prepared to make a ‘mind-boggling offer’ to sign Nicolo Barella, and could even initiate discussions before the upcoming Champions League final.

Furthermore, Pep Guardiola is believed to be a huge admirer of the Serie A winner as well.
Nicolo Barella would likely be tempted to join the Premier League giants
Especially if Manchester City beat Inter Milan to the Champions League throne and win the treble, Nicolo Barella would naturally be enticed by a summer move.
While the Italian juggernaut should be proud of themselves for reaching the final of the competition, it is almost impossible for them to compete at such stages season in, season out.
Domestically as well, they did not even come close to challenging Napoli.
Meanwhile, City have been in two finals in the last three seasons, whilst having won the Premier League thrice on the row.
If Barella aims to sit at the top table of players in Europe and the best team in the world approaches him, how could he say no?
