It has been reported that Manchester City could officially sign Jeremy Doku in time for him to be available to face Sheffield United on Sunday.

This comes from the Daily Mail journalist Jack Gaughan, after it was claimed on Monday that he had signed for City in a deal worth £51.3 million.

Now, it seems like Jeremy Doku could well be in the Manchester City squad to face Sheffield United.

Jack Gaughan: Jeremy Doku could be in the Manchester City squad vs Sheffield United

Branded as ‘electric’ by Business Upturn, it seems like Pep Guardiola’s men have finally got their hands on their dream Riyad Mahrez replacement.

After weeks of speculation around the Belgian international’s future, it seems like only a matter of time until he dons sky blue.

Now, it has been revealed that Jeremy Doku could be a part of the Manchester City matchday squad to go toe-toe against Sheffield United this Sunday.

Naturally, the question on several fans’ minds will be whether the 21-year-old will be given a start straightaway.

It seems like Jeremy Doku will be on the bench

Considering it was claimed on Monday that Jeremy Doku will only have his medical with Manchester City on Wednesday, it seems highly unlikely that he will earn his first start against Sheffield United.

With media commitments alongside finding his way around Manchester, it would be a surprise if Pep Guardiola decides to start him in a Premier League game just a couple of days later.

After all, Doku would have barely even trained to be even slightly in sync with his teammates as well as Guardiola’s tactical instructions.

But it does seem likely that Jeremy Doku will make his debut for his potentially new club at Bramall Lane.

Whether Manchester City are cruising and aim to extend their lead or are in need of a goal late into the game, the direct winger would be the perfect option to bring off the bench.
