It has been reported that Manchester City are interested in getting a transfer over the line for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Julio Enciso.

The 19-year-old, despite playing limited minutes for Roberto De Zerbi’s side due injury and being gradually bedded into proceedings has made quite the impression.

So much so that Manchester City themselves have Julio Enciso on their transfer wish list ahead of next season, as per a report by the Mirror.

While Jack Grealish has been branded as ‘outrageous’ by Rio Ferdinand for his upturn in form this season, Bernardo Silva also being lauded for his recent displays, as well as Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez remaining top players, it seems like City are still on the lookout for a new winger.

After all, Mahrez is ageing and has not at his very best, especially this season, while the likes of Grealish, Foden and Silva are all midfielders at heart.

As a result, Pep Guardiola himself is a ‘huge admirer’ of Julio Enciso, as Manchester City have seemingly already drawn their list of transfer targets.

The 19-year-old’s versatility has shone through in his game, as while he may be a natural striker, he has played on both flanks this campaign and shone the part.

With the Sky Blues perhaps needing a more dynamic player in wider areas to have a different option at their disposal, Enciso could perhaps be that answer, if a deal gets over the line.

Brighton are unlikely to sell Julio Enciso unless Sky Blues break the bank

As Brighton have officially qualified for Europe next season, they have yet another key reason not to sanction the transfer of Julio Enciso to Manchester City.

Additionally, the club signed the Paraguayan forward in the summer of 2022.

It seems like a repeat of the negotiations to sign Marc Cucurella could come to fruition, with the Seagulls demanding a king’s ransom to sell him, and City deciding to budge.

However, if the Premier League champions do and pay the big bucks, Enciso could be donning sky blue come next season.
