It has been reported that Chelsea have reached an agreement in principle with Manchester City-linked gem Michael Olise over his potential arrival.

This comes from RMC Sport, after it was claimed on Sunday that Pep Guardiola’s men had shortlisted the 21-year-old’s name as a potential addition.

However, it seems Chelsea seem to be leading the race ahead of Manchester City in the pursuit of Michael Olise.

Chelsea reach agreement to sign Manchester City-linked winger Michael Olise

Targeting the Crystal Palace winger, branded as ‘special’ by Patrick Vieira (via the Independent) seemed like a sensible decision from the Sky Blues, as he profiles quite similarly to Riyad Mahrez, who looks set to sign for Al-Ahli.

With only Cole Palmer on City’s books as a natural option at right-wing, one can see the need to bolster that position ahead of next season.

However, it has been reported that Chelsea have struck an agreement in principle with Manchester City target Michael Olise over securing his services.

Furthermore, it has been claimed that Mauricio Pochettino’s side made an offer that is believed to be lower than £38.8 million.

To add to that, the youngster himself is believed to be keen on a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Manchester City should remain persistent in this transfer battle

Even if Chelsea look like the favorites to sign Michael Olise, Manchester City should continue to try to sign him as long as his fate is yet to be decided.

After all, while the West London-based side have come off their worst-ever season in Premier League history, City are the reigning treble-winners.

Considering Olise would be guaranteed to get a lot of playing time at the Etihad Stadium as well, one would consider it a no-brainer to head to Manchester instead of London in this scenario.

As a result, all hope should certainly not be lost in Manchester City’s case when trying to sign the silky wideman.
