It has been reported Manchester City target Eberechi Eze may have a release clause in his potential new contract at Crystal Palace.
This comes from the Sun, after Palace were hoping that their £70 million valuation of the Englishman puts City off from signing him this summer.
However, Manchester City could well have a chance of bringing Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze to the Etihad Stadium in 2024 by triggering the release clause in his potential contract extension.
Manchester City could trigger Eberechi Eze release clause to sign him in 2024
Branded as ‘smooth’ by Rio Ferdinand, the 25-year-old’s current contract expires in 2025.
As a result, perhaps the Sky Blues internally believed that now was the best opportunity to snap him up as Palace would be willing to let him go.
But Crystal Palace have held firm, as it has been revealed they are now willing to offer Manchester City target Eberechi Eze a new contract with a fixed release clause in place.

The England international is also set to be offered £5 million-a-year in wages at Selhurst Park.
Eberechi Eze could be playing in sky blue next season
It is clear to see that the treble-winners are keen on signing Eberechi Eze and perhaps Crystal Palace are aware that guaranteeing him a release clause is the only sure-shot way of keeping him at the club.
The English juggernaut are known to often trigger release clauses for several players they aim to sign instead of being embroiled in a bidding war of a transfer tug-of-war.
As long as Pep Guardiola’s men remain keen on signing the Crystal Palace talisman, the move could be likely to occur, especially as it is tough to beat them in such transfer dealings.
An extra year at Palace that sees Eze further hone his craft and become even more ready to make the jump to the Sky Blues would also benefit both parties.
