It has been reported that Kevin De Bruyne has no interest of leaving Manchester City to play in the Saudi Pro League.

This comes from 90 Min after it was claimed last Wednesday that Al-Nassr had contacted the £54 million (Guardian) man’s agent to get a deal done.

However, it seems like Kevin De Bruyne intends to stay put at Manchester City instead of joining any Saudi Pro League club.

Kevin De Bruyne set to ignore Saudi interest to stay at Manchester City

Branded as ‘unbelievable’ by Jack Grealish, the Belgian maestro remains arguably the best midfielder in the world at 32 years of age.

However, the treble-winner’s contract at City expires in 2025 and once again, he has suffered a long-term injury.

Even so, Kevin De Bruyne is believed to be ‘fully committed’ to Manchester City and vice-versa instead of making a move to Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Pro League, however are extremely keen on signing yet another ageing superstar from the Premier League.

But it has been revealed that the former VFL Wolfsburg midfielder believes he could operate at the highest level up until his late 30s such as the likes of Luka Modric, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

While contract talks with Manchester City are yet to have accelerated in the case of Kevin De Bruyne, he intends to stay put instead of moving to the Saudi Pro League, with his current intention simply being of returning from injury in time for Christmas this year.

Kevin De Bruyne is far from done at the elite level

If Kevin De Bruyne himself believes that he has far from declined physically, he remains at the level to play for an elite club instead of signing for a Saudi Arabian team.

After all, the treble-winner finished fourth in the Ballon d’Or rankings, which goes to show that he is still up there amongst the best of the best.

As long as De Bruyne’s return from injury has not impacted him physically on a long-term basis and his minutes are managed going forward, there is no reason to even suggest that he should leave Europe.
