It has been reported that West Ham United look set to sign Kalvin Phillips on loan in January.

It seems like David Moyes’ side have taken a real liking to the prospect of signing the Manchester City midfielder on loan in January, as per a report by the Mirror.

According to Darren Bent, the potential signing of the 28-year-old on loan would be a stupendous addition to the Hammers’ squad this month.

West Ham set to win race to seal Kalvin Phillips loan deal

While Kalvin Phillips finds himself as a regular fixture in Gareth Southgate’s England squad, the more he finds himself on the bench, the chances that he gets excluded from his roster for Euro 2024 increase.

As a result, it is integral for the £42 million (The Athletic) man to ensure that he deserves a seat on the plane to Germany, both in terms of merit and match fitness. After all, the last game in which Phillips started was during City’s 3-2 win against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on 13th December.

But now, it seems like West Ham are set to seal a loan deal to sign Kalvin Phillips, according to a report by the Mirror.

Not only are the Irons willing to pay his whopping weekly wage of £130,000 but the club are also believed to be open to pay him bonuses if the deal goes over the line.

Furthermore, West Ham are also claimed to be open to the idea of reviewing whether they aim to sign Kalvin Phillips permanently at the end of the season.

If the move manages to go through, Phillips will have a chance to silence his critics, who have slated his spell at City so far and make a name for himself at the London Stadium.
