Manchester City recently announced the arrival of Savinho as their first signing of the summer transfer window.
Signed from Troyes, the Brazilian spent last season on loan at Girona where he scored nine goals and delivered 10 assists in 37 La Liga appearances.
Ahead of his first season at the Etihad Stadium with Pep Guardiola’s side, Savinho has found himself being likened to a player City already have in their squad.

Rico Lewis says Savinho is just like Jeremy Doku
Speaking to local TV in North Carolina (via Manchester Evening News) ahead of City’s first preseason match against Celtic, Rico Lewis had this to say about Savinho and what he will be able to offer City on the pitch.
He said: “It’s similar to Jeremy [Doku], a different type of player, direct and skilful. It helps with technical players to give a direct player more time.
“It’s similar to Jeremy on the left, he can be more direct. There’s so many good attackers [at City], which will attract more defenders to give more time for the midfielders.”
Savinho and Doku could be a dangerous duo for City
Doku ended his debut season at the Manchester club with the highest number of successful take-ons (87) and carries into the penalty area (147) at City.
Similarly, Savinho, who Guardiola said on his first day at City will love playing in the Premier League, racked up more successful take-ons (104) and carries into the penalty area (80) than any other player at Girona.
This highlights how direct the duo are when it comes to attacking with the ball at their feet and why Lewis has shared how similar they are in terms of their individual style of play.
Taking all of that into account, we feel that Doku and Savinho could form a deadly duo for City and cause nightmares for many opposition defenders.
