Manchester City are on the verge of kicking off their 2024/25 Premier League campaign.

In their previous season, the Blues became the first team to win four consecutive league trophies.

Specifically, City won 28 of their 38 games across the campaign, drawing seven and losing three against Arsenal, Wolves and Aston Villa.

They also scored more goals (91) than any other side in the division, highlighting how dangerous they are in front of goal and how much of a key factor that is for them in terms of winning titles.

Looking ahead to the new season of top-flight action, one pundit and former Premier League star has made a big prediction regarding the future of one of City’s key figures.

Roy Keane predicts when Pep Guardiola will leave Man City

While previewing the upcoming Premier League campaign in a recent edition of The Overlap, Roy Keane had this to say about Pep Guardiola and his future at City.

He said: “This is Pep’s last season. Pep will leave City. I’m putting it out there.”

City must secure a contract extension for Guardiola

As things stand, Guardiola’s current contract at the Etihad Stadium is set to expire in the summer of 2025.

This means that unless he extends his deal before then, this upcoming season will be his last in charge of City.

Last month, Guardiola said that he would love to extend his deal at City, although he isn’t going to spend another eight years in his current role.

Having seen the 53-year-old win 350 of the 473 games he’s overlooked in charge of the Blues, it’s undeniable that he has been a vital figure in how the team have gone about their business over the past few years.

Despite Keane’s prediction, we feel that City should do all they can to get Guardiola to put pen to paper on an extension.
