Roy Keane predicts the result of Man United vs Man City on Sunday, Gary Neville completely agrees with him

The Manchester derby is taking place at Old Trafford on Sunday. How do Gary Neville and Roy Keane think the game between Man United and Man City will end?

Manchester City and Manchester United go into this one looking to put what’s been miserable seasons behind them. Pep Guardiola’s City sit in 5th place of the Premier League table whilst Ruben Amorim’s United sit down in 13th place, with 14 points separating the two teams.

Earlier in the season, Man United picked up an unlikely 2-1 win at the Etihad. But Man City will go into this one as the favourites with Pep’s side beating Leicester City 2-0 in midweek to make back-to-back wins, whilst United saw a run of back-to-back wins halted by Nottingham Forest in midweek.

Man City still have a 4th place finish within their reach and a win on Sunday could see them leapfrog Chelsea who currently sit in 4th, with Enzo Maresca’s side playing West London neighbours Brentford on Sunday.

On Sunday, Man City will be without Erling Haaland after he sustained an injury against Bournemouth last weekend.

Gary Neville and Roy Keane predict draws in Man United vs Man City

Speaking on The Overlap ahead of the weekend, former Manchester United players Roy Keane and Gary Neville gave their score predictions for the game on Sunday, and both are hopeful that United take at least something from the game.

Keane predicted a 1-1 draw whilst Neville predicted a 2-2 draw. Neville is hoping that Man United’s half-decent record in the so-called ‘big games’ this season will stand United in good stead ahead of Sunday, with Man City not exactly boasting a good record on the road this season (Man City are 10th in the Premier League away table).

But the Red Devils haven’t been so formidable at Old Trafford either with United sitting 12th in the Premier League home form table this season. Given that, many fans might also be predicting a draw on Sunday.

Man United vs Man City H2H since 2020

Since the start of 2020, Man United and Man City have played each other 16 times (Man City have won nine, drawing just once, whilst Man United have won six, including the last meeting between the two).

United have actually won two of their last three against City, who won their last Premier League game at Old Trafford by a 3-0 scoreline back in October 2023.

City’s biggest wins over Man United came in 2022 when Guardiola’s side beat United 4-1 and then 6-3, both times at the Etihad.

Since 2020, Man City have played at Old Trafford seven times (winning four, drawing one, and losing two).

Kick off on Sunday is at 4:30pm.
