Manchester City found themselves on an unprecedented run of bad form over the past few weeks.
Specifically, prior to Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest, City lost six of their seven previous matches across all competitions.
Jamie Carragher described City’s form as a “mini-crisis” after seeing them lose a fourth consecutive league match against Liverpool last weekend.
Following on from their midweek win over Forest, City will be taking on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park for their latest league outing on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of this game, one player from Pep Guardiola’s ranks has shared his honest thoughts on the club’s recent run of form and shed some light on what surprised him about it behind the scenes.

Savinho ‘surprised’ by Man City teammates during poor run of form
Speaking to the club’s in-house media (via the official Man City website) Savinho shared this honest admission about the poor run of form the Blues went on in November.
He said: “Speaking personally, I don’t like to lose – I don’t take it well, I get really annoyed. The last few weeks have been horrible for me.
“I thank god that we were able to get the win against Nottingham Forest. We just kept working hard.
“We knew that we’d never been on a run like this for years, but I was quite surprised by how well the players dealt with it. We knew that it was a bad run, but that everything passes, and hopefully we’re out of it now and we can follow up with three points against Crystal Palace.
“Nothing changed, we kept doing what the manager asks of us. The results have been bad, so people think that something is going on, but that’s not the case. It’s been a calm atmosphere.
“We know that it’s not always sunshine and flowers, that at some point a bad spell is going to come. Everyone has their difficult moments, but they also pass at some point too. We won against Forest to get our confidence back and move on with the season. Now it’s about looking forward.
“We have our objectives which are game by game, as Liverpool are a few points ahead of us, but we now have that win to get out of that bad run, so it’s about winning game by game and I hope we can continue like that.
“We hadn’t been able to win for the last few games, so we were happy. We have our confidence back and now we’re back, hopefully, we can continue like this. We’d been working hard in the lead-up with the time we had because here every two or three days is a new match.
“So now we’re already back preparing for Crystal Palace to get the three points.”
City showed perfect reaction in Forest win
Prior to the Liverpool defeat, Micah Richards said City’s form was a “collective” problem in terms of not having certain players at the club and the ones who are not turning up when needed.
Having scored seven goals and conceded 19 in their seven matches leading up to the Forest game, the Blues managed to get back to winning ways in the best way possible by scoring three goals and keeping just their third league clean sheet of the campaign.

Moving forward, everyone connected to the club will be hoping the team can use their win against Forest as a spark to get their season back on track and begin a run of winning form.
