Kalvin Phillips has been speaking about Jude Bellingham – a player Manchester City missed out on during the summer transfer window.

It was the Telegraph who quoted Manchester City’s No.4 on the 20-year-old.

So, what did Kalvin Phillips say about Jude Bellingham? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to Real Madrid Board Member José Manuel Otero – the Real Madrid No.5 actually rejected Manchester City over the summer.

A story from The Athletic adds that Manchester City were disappointed to lose out on Bellingham.

Since the Birmingham-born maestro moved to Real Madrid, he has rubbed salt in the wounds for Manchester City, remarkably scoring ten goals in his first ten appearances for the Spanish giants.

After yet another superb display in England’s 3-1 win over Italy on Tuesday night, Bellingham’s exceptional ability has left Phillips stunned.

The 27-year-old said: “I scratch my head sometimes and think, how is Jude getting better and better?”

Clearly, Phillips has been left in disbelief at what he is seeing from the £347,481-a-week man, and understandably so.

Bellingham ran riot at Wembley on Tuesday, winning the penalty for Harry Kane’s equaliser before creating Marcus Rashford’s goal with a lung bursting run through the middle.

It was a simply incredible performance from the 20-year-old, who is arguably the most in form player on the planet right now.

Manchester City would have been unstoppable with Jude Bellingham

If Manchester City had found a way to bring Bellingham to the Etihad Stadium, Pep Guardiola would have genuinely possessed an embarrassment of riches.

Just imagine a side containing the likes of Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Julian Alvarez, Rodri and Bellingham – the Citizens surely would have won every single game so far this season.

Nevertheless, that ship has sailed for Manchester City, and it may be years until another chance to sign the Birmingham City academy graduate arises.
