Sergio Aguero is undoubtedly one of Manchester City’s greatest players of all time.
Spending 10 years at the Etihad Stadium between 2011 and 2021, the striker made 390 appearances in total.
Across those matches, Aguero bagged 260 goals, making him City’s all-time top goalscorer.
He also lifted multiple domestic trophies during his time at the Manchester club including five Premier League titles.
Despite that, Kyle Walker revealed that Aguero was the worst trainer he’d ever seen in his career.
Even though his infamous injury-time winner against Queens Park Rangers back in 2012 to win City their first-ever league title put him in the club’s history books, another match later on in his tenure with the Blues saw the Argentine establish himself as one of the best strikers in Premier League history.

Aguero’s five-star performance against Newcastle
Back in October 2015, City faced off against Newcastle United in the Premier League at home.
Even though the Blues found themselves 1-0 down after 18 minutes, they ended up walking away with a 6-1 scoreline and all three points in the bag.
In terms of Aguero’s role in this particular game, he scored five of City’s six goals on the day, with Kevin De Bruyne getting the other.
After scoring his first goal in the first half, his next four came within a 13-minute period in the second half.
Interestingly, the striker had just nine touches of the ball between the 42nd and 62nd minutes and scored with five of them for the fastest five-goal haul in Premier League history at the time.
What was the reaction to Aguero’s five-goal display at the time?
After the match, then-City manager Manuel Pellegrini had this to say about Aguero and his five-star performance when asked if the striker should be considered on the same level as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo (via The Guardian).
He said: “After what we have seen today, of course Kun is at that level.”
In the Newcastle dugout at the time was Steve McLaren, who said this about what he saw from Aguero in that particular match against his side (via BBC Sport).
He said: “You are coming up against a top-quality team. Aguero was world-class. He is getting back to form and we were punished by a really high-quality opponent.”
Back in April, Virgil van Dijk admitted Aguero was always difficult to play against, which was certainly the case for Newcastle back in 2015.
Having then gone on to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame back in 2022, it’d be safe to assume that his efforts against Newcastle in 2015 will have helped earn him that spot.
