Manchester City take on Liverpool at the weekend – and there has been a fairly significant development today in the build-up to that huge match.
City play against FC Copenhagen tonight first through in the second leg of their Champions League last 16 clash, with City holding a 3-1 lead.
It is expected that City won’t have too many issues tonight with the two-goal advantage at the Etihad Stadium.
Preparations for Liverpool will then commence – and there is no playing down how big that match is.
City are just a point behind the Reds in the Premier League table, with Arsenal a point behind City. It is shaping up to be an incredible title race, and the eyes of the footballing world will be fixed on Sunday’s match. Paul Merson will be tuning in, and he has hailed the football City are playing at the moment.
Today, there has been an ominous news development ahead of the crunch clash…
Mo Salah in contention to play for Liverpool against Manchester City as he’s spotted in training

Liverpool have had several injuries to contend with recently, so it is to their credit that they are still top of the league.
Undoubtedly their biggest injury absence has been Mo Salah, who hasn’t played for the Reds now since they took on Brentford on February 17. And prior to that game, he had missed four straight Premier League matches.
Salah sustained an injury at AFCON and has been struggling.
But today, in ominous scenes, Salah has been spotted back in Liverpool training.
With the game taking place on Sunday, one would imagine that there is a very good chance that Salah will be starting.
Salah will surely start against Man City
So Salah is back in training for Liverpool – and he is surely going to be starting in Sunday’s game.
The £34 million Egyptian may well be lacking match fitness, but Jurgen Klopp is surely not about to keep him on the bench for their biggest game of the season.
He is Liverpool’s talisman, and his record against City is worryingly good. He has 11 goals and six assists against City so far in his career, and he’s obviously a huge threat and a world-class player.
Pep Guardiola has previously described Salah as ‘an exceptional player’ and ‘an incredible threat’, while Kevin De Bruyne has branded the Egyptian ‘unbelievable’.
Even if he isn’t 100% sharp on Sunday, City will be incredibly wary of him.
