Manchester City are on the hunt to win a fifth consecutive Premier League title.
Over the past two seasons, Pep Guardiola’s side have been battling it out with Arsenal at the top of the table.
After finishing five points above Mikel Arteta’s outfit in City’s Treble-winning campaign, the gap between the two clubs last season was just two points by the end of the season.
With just three games played in this current campaign, one pundit has made a big claim about how the season could pan out for the Gunners over the next few weeks in their attempts to knock the Blues off the top spot.

Paul Merson drops Premier League title claim about Man City and Arsenal
In a recent column for Sky Sports, Paul Merson had this to say about Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures and what it could mean for the title race.
He said: “Arsenal’s Premier League season all comes down to the next two games against Tottenham and Man City.
“They need four points. It’s as simple as that. If they get anything less, then you start to worry because you’re playing catch-up against a machine in Man City.
“If they draw against Spurs and lose at Man City a week later, they’re probably going to be seven points behind and I think that would be it.”
City will be hoping Arsenal drop points
With City and Liverpool being the only sides to win all three of their Premier League games, Arsenal have won two and drawn one, leaving them two points behind the champions at the top of the table.
Bearing in mind how Arteta said back in July that the only way Arsenal will beat City to the title is by winning all of their Premier League games, this highlighted how high he recognises the Blues have set the bar to be crowned champions.
Now that Merson has said that the Gunners can’t afford to drop points against Spurs and City over the next couple of weeks, this suggests that he thinks Guardiola’s side aren’t likely to drop points throughout the season.
However, there’s still a long way to go in the season but City will still undoubtedly be hoping that any of their title rivals will drop points throughout the campaign.
