Gary Neville was left blown away by Jeremy Doku earlier today as Manchester City took on Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium.
The 48-year-old was speaking on commentary duty for Sky Sports alongside Peter Drury.
So, what did Gary Neville say about Jeremy Doku? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Manchester United legend heaped praise on the Belgium international after he twisted Trent Alexander-Arnold in knots during today’s Premier League clash.
Doku had the England international exactly where he wanted him, slowing Liverpool’s No.66 down before speeding him up again to get that vital yard of space to deliver a cross in the 22nd minute.
Neville – impressed by the Belgian’s wing play – said: “That is so difficult to deal with. That’s what the very best wide players do. They slow you down.”
Alexander-Arnold did well defensively at times, although Doku mostly had the better of the 25-year-old as Manchester City drew with Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium.

It was a significant call for Pep Guardiola to select the 21-year-old ahead of Jack Grealish.
Many – including Alan Pardew – felt that the Spaniard would start the England international, due to the assurance he provides in possession.
However, Guardiola was bold and decided to use his £55.5m signing from Rennes, taking the game to Jürgen Klopp rather than show a fear of being counter attacked by the likes of Mohamed Salah.
Jeremy Doku appears to be No.1 at Manchester City
Despite only arriving at the Etihad Stadium in August, Doku already appears to be the No.1 choice for Guardiola on the left – specifically in big games.

The 52-year-old has now started the Belgian against Chelsea and Liverpool, while he also opted to bring him off the bench against Arsenal, leaving Grealish sat on the sidelines.
It is clear – for now at least – that Doku is the preferred choice for Guardiola, suggesting that Chris Sutton was right to claim that Grealish would be “in a bit of bother” because of the £55.5m signing.
