Julio Enciso has lavished praise on to Phil Foden, as the pair recently faced each other as Manchester City drew 1-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion.

As quoted by journalist Robert Rojas, the Paraguayan forward also acknowledged the Premier League champions’ interest in signing him.

If Julio Enciso does end up becoming a Manchester City player, he could play alongside a player he really admires in Phil Foden.

Julio Enciso raves about Manchester City wonderkid Phil Foden

The England international, who scored the opener for City against Roberto De Zerbi’s side was praised by Jamie Redknapp, who pinpointed how he ‘looked very sharp’ on the day.

As Foden put in a masterful showing against the Seagulls, Enciso showcased his class as well, scoring a piledriver from outside the box.

Julio Enciso has now reflected on how he swapped shirts with Phil Foden after the contest, while lauding him as a player as well.

Phil Foden should command respect from fellow young footballers

Many have written the ‘Stockport Iniesta’ off due to what has been a bit of a down season for him, instead of acknowledging his injuries and rotation in a season where his boyhood club could win the treble.

However, Julio Enciso seems to realise, as should other young players around the world that Phil Foden is operating at the highest possible level, which is not as easy as one thinks.

In what has a claim for being the best team in Premier League history and one of the best club sides the game has ever seen, it is next to impossible to be a guaranteed starter.

For a player at just 22 years to have won as many trophies as he has whilst contributing from a multitude of positions is simply remarkable.

Even in what has not been Foden’s best campaign, he still has 15 goals and nine assists in all competitions, which emphasises the standards he is at operating at.

Dismissing a potential great who is yet to have even played a full campaign in his natural midfield would be naïve.
