After Manchester City beat Yokohama F. Marinos 5-3 to kickstart their pre-season tour, Pep Guardiola gave an injury update regarding Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgian playmaker famously snapped his hamstring in the Champions League final, but it was claimed almost a month ago that he would not require surgery.
As the 2023/2024 season edges closer and closer, Pep Guardiola has given an insight into when Kevin De Bruyne will return from injury for Manchester City.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola gives Kevin De Bruyne injury update
Once again last season, the 32-year-old was a class apart, registering a staggering 10 goals and 31 assists across all competitions.
Whilst many questioned De Bruyne’s form at certain stages during the previous campaign, he reminded the world once again of why he is not arguably the best but also the most clutch midfielder on the planet.
As Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne continues to nurse his long-term hamstring injury, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he could be set to make his return quite soon.

“He feels much, much, much better. I don’t know Bayern Munich, I don’t know the next game, Atletico Madrid, because of course he has to train. But he is so close. He is coming back soon”, he told Manchester Evening News journalist Richard Fay.
Pep Guardiola would especially be delighted with this development
Considering Ilkay Gundogan’s departure from Manchester City, it would have been yet another headache for Pep Guardiola to deal with if his talismanic midfielder had been sidelined through injury for a long stretch.
While it is widely expected that Phil Foden or Bernardo Silva could replace the German, it certainly helps that quite soon, the club’s best creative force will return to action.
As City aim to reign supreme across all fronts once again next season, De Bruyne’s sustained absence would have rendered that goal impossible even before a ball has been kicked.
