Manchester City managed to avoid picking up a sixth consecutive defeat in their recent Champions League match against Feyenoord.
However, they did manage to blow a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 at the Etihad Stadium.
Goals from Erling Haaland and Ilkay Gundogan gave City their 3-0 lead with 53 minutes on the clock, only for them to concede three within a 14-minute window before the final whistle.
On commentary, Alan Shearer said it was an “absolute disaster” for the home side given the nature of how the match panned out.
Following this another pundit – and former City manager – gave his assessment of the game, which included a prediction for what the reaction would be in the home side’s dressing room.

Stuart Pearce predicts Man City’s dressing room mood after Feyenoord draw
When asked to share his reaction to the match as part of Amazon Prime Video Sport’s punditry panel, Stuart Pearce gave this honest assessment.
He said: “I have been in this stadium many times over the last few years and I have been wowed by what I’ve seen. I have been wowed by that. City will be taking this like a defeat.
“All the things we spoke about before the match, they were all there in the second half. The high line, individual errors. That’s what has lost them the lead.
“I suspect there will be one or two home truths in the dressing room. Credit to Feyenoord. They kept going and kept going and their fans and celebrating like they have won the league.”
Guardiola said City were ‘not stable’ defensively
Speaking in his post-match interview, Guardiola addressed City’s capitulation against the Dutch side, saying this on how the match went on in its final stages.
He said: “The game was fine at 3-0, playing good, but then we concede a lot of goals because we were not stable. We gave them the first and then the other one, that is why it was difficult.
“We lost a lot of games lately, we are fragile and of course, we needed a victory, the game was good for the confidence. We were playing a good level but the first time something happened we had problems.
“I don’t know if it is mental. The first goal cannot happen and the second as well. After that we forget what happened, we were desperate to win and do well, we do well but don’t win games.
“The situation is what it is. We played a good game but at that level we can’t give them away.”

With Pearce sharing how baffled he was by how City couldn’t see the game out and ended up walking away with just one point, this highlights how much of a surprise it was.
In terms of his dressing room point, it would seem likely that the entire City squad will be having frank discussions about not only how this latest game ended but also how the team have fared over the past few weeks.
Moving forward, with some crucial domestic and European fixtures coming up – the first of which being a crucial Premier League match against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday – City will need to get back on track as soon as possible and make sure they fix their defensive frailties.
