Manchester City had several of their players take part in the recent 2024 European Championship.
More accurately, 14 names from Pep Guardiola’s squad at the Etihad Stadium were picked to feature in the tournament.
In addition to that, numerous players that the Manchester club have been linked with transfer moves for have also been in action for their countries over the past few weeks in Germany.
Now that the tournament has come to an end, with Rodri’s Spain beating England in the final, one of the reported City transfer targets has been recognised for his impressive efforts in the tournament.

Jamal Musiala included in Euro 2024 Team of the Tournament amid Man City transfer interest
In a recent post shared on their official X account, the UEFA Euro 2024 Team of the Tournament was announced which contained the 11 best performers in the competition as chosen by UEFA’s Technical Observer panel.
This XI contained Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala, who it was reported by The Guardian back in April that City have as a transfer target for the current summer transfer window.
Musiala showed his star quality at Euro 2024
The 21-year-old started all five of Germany’s games in the tournament as the host nation made it to the quarter-final stage before being knocked out by the eventual winners Spain.
In addition to scoring more goals (3) than any other Germany player, the midfielder made more progressive carries (28) than any other player in the squad.
His overall performances earned the Bayern star, who Eric Dier previously described as one of the best young talents he’s ever seen, a tournament rating of 7.51/10 from WhoScored, making him the highest-rated player in Julian Nagelsmann’s ranks.
This makes it easy to see why football talent scout, Jacek Kulig, hailed Musiala for his “superb” performances in the competition in a post on his X account, and why he was included in the official Team of the Tournament.
