Jamie Carragher last night analysed the performance of Erling Haaland against Burnley – and likened the striker to former Chelsea man Didier Drogba.
Haaland kicked off the new Premier League campaign with two goals against the Clarets.
It was a brilliant performance from the big man.
He scored with two first-time finishes in the first-half to give Burnley a lot of work to do.
Rodri then added a third in the second-half.
£51 million signing Haaland was just superb at coming short for the ball, holding it up and making dangerous runs through the middle.
Despite not actually touching the ball all that much, he was really impactful, and last night on Monday Night Football, Carragher compared him to Chelsea legend Drogba.
Jamie Carragher amazed by one Erling Haaland action against Burnley
Before Manchester United took on Wolves last night, Carragher, Gary Neville and Karen Carney looked at the weekend’s action from the Premier League.

And they did a segment on Haaland’s excellent performance.
Carragher was amazed by his display, and likened the way he bullied the defenders to Drogba, whom Carragher came up against several times in his career.
There was a point in the second-half when Haaland received the ball under pressure in a one-vs-one situation. But he immediately created space for himself by shoving the defender away from him.
Carragher said: “What I love about this is… Foden just has a little look over his shoulder. He flicks it round the corner, and then that (Haaland shrugs off the defender with ease). That takes me back to playing against Didier Drogba. Someone who just pins you, uses his body.”
Haaland also made the Drogba comparison during Sky’s coverage of the Burnley-City game on Friday.
Drogba was unplayable at times, as Haaland is now
This is a good comparison by Carragher.
Drogba was absolutely brilliant during his time in the Premier League with Chelsea and was a complete nightmare for centre-halves to try and contain.
Carragher himself really struggled against the Ivorian and his power and pace.

Haaland has the exact same style in the way that he is able to just completely throw defenders off him as they try to get touch-tight.
The difference, though, is that Haaland is far more clinical in front of goal than Drogba ever was, which is what makes the Norwegian truly scary.
