Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City future has once again been the subject of much debate and conversation.
With eight years to his name as City’s manager, the 53-year-old is about to enter his ninth season in charge of the Blues.
In fact, with his current contract at the Etihad Stadium set to expire next summer, this upcoming season would be his last at the Manchester club.
Even though the Spaniard recently said that he wouldn’t rule out signing a contract extension, one pundit, who has experience managing City, has made a prediction about when Guardiola could end up calling it a day with the Citizens.

Stuart Pearce predicts when Pep Guardiola will leave Man City
Speaking on talkSPORT (26/7 10:13) on the subject of who the next England manager could be, Stuart Pearce had this to say about Guardiola, who has been mentioned with the Three Lions role following the departure of Gareth Southgate.
He said: “People talk about Pep [as the next England manager]. Pep has got one more year at Manchester City. I think he will leave next summer. That’s my opinion.”
City must secure a contract extension for Guardiola
Earlier this month, it was reported by The Independent that the FA are willing to wait until Guardiola’s current City contract expires before making a move to hire him, appointing an interim manager in the meantime.
With Guardiola playing such a key role in the number of trophies City have lifted since his appointment back in 2016, we feel that it shouldn’t even be a question for the people behind the scenes at the club to ponder when it comes to offering the prolific manager a contract extension.
Therefore, we think that despite Pearce’s prediction that the Spaniard will have just one more season with the Citizens, a contract extension could well be on the cards for Guardiola in the near future.
