Manchester City know what it takes to not only win silverware but to win consistently.
Since Pep Guardiola took charge of City back in the summer of 2016, the Manchester club have won 16 major domestic and European trophies.
After winning the Treble in the 2022/23 season, the Blues followed that up by becoming the first side to win four consecutive Premier League titles.
Even though Guardiola said that he isn’t as eager to break City’s own record by winning another title in a row this term as he and the players were to break the previous record, they are now on the hunt to make even more history in this latest campaign.
With seven matches played and another international break now underway, one pundit has made a claim that should delight a lot of City supporters.
Pundit makes Man City claim regarding Premier League title race
Appearing in a recent video shared on the talkSPORT YouTube channel, Darren Ambrose had this to say when asked which team he thinks will win the title this season.
He said: “I still fancy Manchester City to win. I do think just because they win it all the time. That’s the only reason.”
How have City started their latest Premier League season?
Out of their seven league games, City have won five and drawn two, scoring 17 goals but conceding eight along the way.
This has left the Blues in second place with 17 points, only above Arsenal on goals scored and just one point behind Liverpool at the top of the table.
Having scored more goals than any other side in the division at this point of the season, Guardiola’s side have also racked up more shots at goal (134) and shots on target (48) in the league.
Even though four clubs have conceded fewer goals than City at this stage of the season, the champions have faced fewer shots at their goal (55) and shots on target (21) than any other side in the division.
While the Manchester club have been dealt injury blows to players such as Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, Nathan Ake and Oscar Bobb, they have still managed to have a fairly strong start to the campaign.
Now that Ambrose has claimed that he thinks City’s experience of winning titles will lead them to another one this year, everyone at the Etihad Stadium will have to make sure they stay consistent and keep winning games.
