Manchester City have picked up two wins from their opening games of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
Having picked up a 2-0 victory against Chelsea away from home in the opening weekend, City then beat Ipswich Town 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium to put themselves at the top of the table on goal difference.
For their next league game, the champions will be taking on West Ham United away from home on Saturday.
Looking ahead to this match in East London, one pundit has made a rather interesting claim about City before sharing his prediction about their latest league outing.

Scott Minto assesses Man City vs West Ham
While assessing City’s upcoming clash at the London Stadium in a recent edition of Premier League All Access, Scott Minto had this to say on the matter.
He said: “Well, I don’t know if it’d be routine. I think City can be vulnerable in the counter-attack. There’s no doubt about that.
“West Ham have pace, especially in the likes of Jarrod Bowen. I’m fascinated to see whether [Niclas] Fullkrug is going to start. I think now at some point, I’d like to see him playing for West Ham in the Premier League.
“But you know what, this is a game that I think we saw with Aston Villa the first game of the season where they won it and were the better side.
“I think West Ham are still getting to know their team. I think later on in the season, this would be more difficult, but yeah, I’d fancy City to win.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if West Ham score, but City to win this one.”
West Ham could be a tough test for Man City
Looking back over their previous league campaign, despite scoring more goals (96) than any other side in the division, City still conceded 34 goals in total, leaving Arsenal (29) with the best defensive record.
In fact, City, who Ian Wright recently claimed could be invincible this year, ended their previous season with five fewer clean sheets than Arsenal (13 vs 18).
Even though they’ve only conceded one goal from their opening two league games of the season, it’s not hard to see why Minto may think Pep Guardiola’s side may have some defensive frailties that West Ham could exploit.
