Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland reacted to a meme of himself after his side’s 3-3 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

The 23-year-old was visibly enraged by referee Simon Hooper’s controversial decision to give Manchester City a foul after he had played the advantage when Jack Grealish was one-versus-one with Guglielmo Vicario during the dying embers of the clash.

However, Erling Haaland has now seen the funny side of things on Twitter.

In what was an otherwise “quiet” evening for the former Borussia Dortmund goalscorer, as Paul Robinson said, he could have had his second assist of the game if not for the intervention from the referee.

However, Manchester City No.9 Erling Haaland admitted that he was amused by a meme of his (via Out Of Context Football) reacting to the decision against Tottenham.

“That made me smile for the first time today”, Haaland tweeted after seeing a meme of himself arguing with Simon Hooper.

Erling Haaland and his teammates have to move on

While the Manchester City camp, including Erling Haaland has every right to be furious with the decision against Tottenham, the faster they move on, the better-placed they will be mentally to get over the line in their upcoming games.

In addition, while the last-gasp decision may have played a part in deciding the game, City’s defensive woes and lack of ruthlessness in goal have been a constant theme of their displays this season.

Against the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool as well, they suffered similar problems in various departments.

With an in-form Aston Villa set to host Manchester City at Villa Park on Wednesday, the champions of Europe must react in the best possible manner and that is by putting in a statement performance.
