Ally McCoist has said that Ederson may be the best goalkeeper he’s ever seen with his feet, and that Liverpool stopper Alisson would not get into the Manchester City side over him.
The pundit was speaking on talkSPORT this morning, following City’s 3-0 win over BSC Young Boys in the Champions League.
City secured safe passage to the knockout stages for the 11th consecutive year with the win.
Erling Haaland scored two goals, the second of which was superb. Phil Foden got the other on a comfortable evening for the club.
Pep Guardiola made a few changes to the side from the weekend, but he still played Ederson in goal. The Brazilian is just so key to the way City play, and McCoist was raving about him this morning…
Ally McCoist makes big claim about Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson

McCoist was on commentary duty for TNT Sports at the Etihad Stadium last night.
This morning, he was on talkSPORT talking about other Premier League players that could potentially get into this City side.
He then made a big claim about Ederson, as he insisted Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson would not get in over his fellow Brazilian.
He said at 7:40am: “I love Alisson the goalkeeper, but for the way City play, Ederson might be the best I’ve ever seen with his feet. He pinged a 70-yard pass to the outside left position yesterday, I mean Ronald Koeman would have been delighted with it. Glenn Hoddle would have loved it!
“He’s got an awareness and he was just dinking balls forwards into Kyle Walker in the right back position.
“I like Alisson but he’s not getting in ahead of Ederson because of the way he plays the game.”
McCoist is right about Ederson
Ederson is perhaps the best ball-playing goalkeeper there has ever been. His passing range is absolutely extraordinary.
There is always a debate about who is better between him and Alisson. There is no doubt that the Liverpool stopper is also world-class.
There is very little between them, but McCoist is definitely right to say that Alisson does not hypothetically get in City’s team over £35 million man Ederson.
Ederson has shown over the years that he is an integral cog in the machine for Pep. He is absolutely crucial to how the team plays, building attacks from the back.
It all starts with him. Alisson is a good ball-player too, but he does not come close to Ederson on this.
