The current sticking point in the Josko Gvardiol negotiations, Pep ‘angry’ deal hasn’t be done yet

Manchester City are still trying to sign Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig.

City supporters rejoiced last week when journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that an agreement had been reached.

But it would appear that his information wasn’t quite right.

At the weekend, Leipzig’s director of sport Max Eberl stated that an agreement had not been reached.

At the moment, Gvardiol is with the Leipzig squad for pre-season.

Apparently he is desperate to sign for City, but he will need to be patient for now.

Some City fans are wondering what the hold up is. And now, Bild have provided some information.

Man City have made an offer for Josko Gvardiol, but bonus payments they’re trying to include are ‘unrealistic’

Bild reported yesterday that City currently have an offer on the table for the 21-year-old.

Leipzig are demanding at least £85 million, as they have all along.

City’s current offer, according to Bild, is £77 million.

The sticking point is that they are including ‘rather unrealistic bonus payments’. It is not made clear how these bonus payments would be made.

It is claimed that Pep Guardiola is ‘angry’ that the Croatian warrior is not already signed and joined up with his squad.

Bild do end on a positive note though, saying an agreement ‘will be reached’ eventually.

Man City having not signed Gvardiol yet is disappointing

City fans will be delighted when this saga is over.

It is frustrating that the club have not brought this deal to fruition yet.

Gvardiol has been City’s top target for some time now. It is clear he is a special young player with a huge future ahead of him. And seemingly he does want to come.

City just need to get it done, and make those bonus payments more realistic.

City’s pre-season has now begun and this is a crucial time where Gvardiol could be bedding in and learning Pep’s system.

Hopefully it will not be to much longer before an agreement is actually reached.
