But Vincent Kompany played in an era at Manchester City and for Belgium where both sides had true magicians in their rosters such as David Silva and Eden Hazard.
Nowadays, it is rare to come across such players as they are special players for a reason.
But in 2021, Kompany, who could manage Manchester City one day was asked his five-a-side team of the best players he has ever played with.

Vincent Kompany picked Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Yaya Toure, Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne in his five-a-side team.
Speaking to the Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube channel in 2021, Kompany said: “I’ve got to go Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne, that’s two.”
“Got to put David Silva, got to put Kun [Aguero], can I be coach? I’ll put Yaya and then I’ll coach it. No’ keeper.”

Vincent Kompany played plenty of football with all the aforementioned players, especially De Bruyne because the pair played together for both Manchester City and Belgium.
But Kompany perhaps played for a longer period of time at City with Yaya Toure, David Silva and Sergio Aguero than with the midfield maestro.
As for Hazard, the pair were often starting for Belgium and relied upon to drive them forward alongside De Bruyne.

Kompany played the most games with David Silva (232) out of all the players in his five-a-side team and the pair were involved in scoring six goals together.
Unsurprisingly, Vincent Kompany played the least number of games with Eden Hazard (51). While it was expected for Kompany to play 202 and 172 games respectively with Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero respectively, it is a surprise that he was on the pitch with De Bruyne just 89 times.
