“The attributes he has got with his pace mean that I think you are going to see that goal repeated. Driving at a full-back, threatening to go on the outside, cutting inside and delivering that ball to the far corner. It’s something that we will hopefully see a lot of.”
Keith Curle also analysed why West Ham and any team would struggle to keep Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku quiet.
“He has got the threat and as he showed early doors, he let the full back know that he had the beating of him. When you are defender, and you are faced against such pace it’s the worst thing. You don’t mind facing someone who is a tricky player as they delay play and then you have people to come back and help you. But when it’s somebody who just gets it and runs at you it’s horrible!”
Jeremy Doku is the real deal
Keith Curle is spot on and what stood out is how quickly the former Rennes sensation has looked the part for Manchester City, as was on show against West Ham.
After all, it is known that wingers, especially struggle to get to grips with Pep Guardiola’s system in their debut seasons.
But Doku has taken to Guardiola’s demands like a duck to water as he lit up proceedings in only his second game for the club.
