Tony Pulis has noticed something about Pep Guardiola for ‘the first time’ since he arrived at Man City

Former Premier League manager Tony Pulis has admitted that he has spotted something about Pep Guardiola that he has only seen for the first time.

The legendary coach came into the 2025/26 campaign with something to prove after a very underwhelming season last time around, in which Man City ended the term without a trophy and needed the final day to secure Champions League football.

Some Man City fans even called for Guardiola to go after their FA Cup final defeat, which shows that many began to doubt the Spaniard for some reason.

The pressure is certainly on Guardiola to deliver this season, and according to Pulis, he has noticed something about the Man City boss that he has only seen for the first time.

Tony Pulis thinks Pep Guardiola looks tired

The opening phase of the current season has been mixed for Man City and Guardiola, as there have been some highlights, but they have been overshadowed by the two defeats that have already taken place.

Pulis has been speaking about the legendary coach, and the former Stoke City boss has stated that he already looks tired in interviews.

“I’m watching him after the interviews, Mick, and there were lines on his face for the first time,” Pulis said on The Managers Podcast.

“His eyes looked a little bit puffy, and he looked a little bit short with the people who were asking him the questions, and it was like, ‘Yeah, I’ve been there. I understand that.'”

Man City have a nice run of fixtures coming up, and if the Manchester club can put a few wins together, it will be interesting to see how revived Guardiola is.

How many points will Man City get across their next five matches

Following Man City’s draw with Arsenal, Guardiola’s men are already seven points behind Liverpool and if they have ambitions of winning the Premier League, that cannot get any higher.

Therefore, City will need to put a run of wins together, and their next five fixtures give the Manchester club a chance to do that, as they face Burnley, Brentford, Everton, Aston Villa and Bournemouth.

Man City are more than capable of getting 15 points from these fixtures, especially with Erling Haaland being in top form at present.

With Jeremy Doku also on a hot run of form, the forward duo will help fire City to wins over the coming weeks, and it will be interesting to see where they stand after if they can be victorious in all five.
