Man City fans are all saying the same thing about Pep Guardiola’s Man City future

Manchester City have been defeated in the FA Cup final by Crystal Palace.

The 2024/25 campaign has been a very underwhelming one for Pep Guardiola’s men as they went from winning four Premier League titles in a row to a trophyless domestic season and are yet to secure their place in next season’s Champions League with two games to go.

Winning the FA Cup would have salvaged the season a little for fans of the Manchester club, however, Crystal Palace piled on the misery as Man City-linked Eberechi Eze scored the winning goal at Wembley.

Despite it being the biggest game of their season, City were poor once again, and it seems that some fans have turned on Guardiola, with several calling for the legendary coach to go.

Man City fans want Pep Guardiola gone next season

The FA Cup final was always going to be a tough task for Man City, given the form of Crystal Palace, with Jamie Carragher predicting the Eagles to win the contest at Wembley.

Fans of the Manchester club knew this, however, they would have still been disappointed with how their team performed as City were not at their best, despite making a positive start to the game.

After experiencing a tough season under Guardiola’s watch for the first time since his arrival in 2016, some Man City fans think the legendary coach might be past it and have asked for the 54-year-old to go.

One Man City fan wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “He (Guardiola) did a lot, but time to finish this chapter.”

A second City fan said about Guardiola after the FA Cup final defeat: “He watched his team clueless for 70 minutes and doesn’t make changes, and when he does, he brings on Foden.”

A third Man City fan was still not happy about the Southampton result last weekend: “You can’t bottle UCL and FA Cup, if that happens, Guardiola should be sacked, how can you play Southampton with no wingers, that result still hurts me.”

Finally, another City supporter would say about Guardiola’s future: “Enough is enough, there needs to be a different voice.”

How Pep Guardiola plans to rebuild Man City

Calling for Guardiola’s head after one poor season seems very harsh, as the legendary coach knows he got things wrong this season, while the club realised in January the mistake they made by resting on their laurels last summer.

That will not happen this time around as Man City plan to revamp their squad with Florian Wirtz being Guardiola’s top target.

The Spanish coach also plans to add a number eight to his midfield options, with Man City being linked to Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White and AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders.

Midfield is the focus area of Guardiola’s rebuild at Man City, but a goalkeeper and a full-back are also expected to arrive at the Etihad Stadium before the 2025/26 campaign gets underway.

The Man City boss has a plan, and if next season follows the same path as the current term, then fans of the Manchester club can start to get worried.
