Two clubs are now willing to pay Man City’s asking price for player who wants to leave

Manchester City have sold many players throughout Pep Guardiola’s reign at the club.

Specifically, City have moved players out of the Etihad Stadium either on loan or permanent deals for certain fees or as free agents.

Regardless of whoever they’ve seen leave the club, Pep Guardiola’s outfit have still shown how dominant they are in English football, recently becoming the first side to ever win four Premier League trophies in a row.

With the Blues already seeing some players leave the club to start new chapters elsewhere such as Sergio Gomez, some fresh information has come to light regarding another player on the books who City could be cashing in on this summer.

Two clubs open to paying Man City’s asking price for Joao Cancelo

According to a recent report from Sport, Al-Ahli and Al-Ettifaq are reportedly willing to pay the €30m fee City want to sell Joao Cancelo this summer.

The report also adds that this puts Barcelona’s chances of landing another deal for the full-back, who only wants to join the Spanish side, at risk.

City’s best move would be to sell Cancelo to the highest bidder

During his loan spell at Barcelona last season, Cancelo featured in 42 games in total across all competitions, chipping in with four goals and five assists along the way.

Earlier this week, it was reported that while the full-back is eager to make a return to Barcelona this summer, he would also be open to making a move back to Italy should a deal with the Spanish club fail to materialise rather than Saudi Arabia.

In our view, if the Portuguese international, who hasn’t played a competitive match for City since the start of 2023, isn’t likely to be part of Guardiola’s plans moving forward, their prerogative should be to cash in on Cancelo to whoever is willing to pay the most for him.
