Ian Wright has now commented on the clash between Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher.
The 60-year-old made the comments when speaking on The Overlap.
So, what did Ian Wright say about Pep Guardiola? Let’s take a look…
What Ian Wright said about Pep Guardiola
Well, the man from Woolwich felt Neville and Carragher did not deserve to be called out by the Spaniard.
If you missed what happened, Guardiola said the following after the Sky Sports pundits accused Manchester City of being complacent.
“He knows how difficult it is. Otherwise, Gary Neville would’ve won four (consecutive) Premier Leagues in the best period of Manchester United, but he didn’t do it. Not even him, or Jamie Carragher of course, he didn’t win it once.”
This led Carragher to make a dig in regards to those 115 charges and Manchester City’s obvious financial power.
In response to the drama, Wright said: “When it happened, I knew. I said, nah, Jamie will come back with something, and he was right. Why shouldn’t you? That for me, that’s unprovoked. I didn’t think you lot were being very harsh on him.”
We agree with the Arsenal legend.

Neville only said that Manchester City were showing signs of complacency after winning the treble – which is a fair comment when you consider the fact Guardiola’s side are now winless in four Premier League outings.
In fairness, the 52-year-old did not really go in too strongly on the pair of Sky Sports pundits either, so it is all a bit of a fluffy war of words, truth be told.
Guardiola reaction could suggest Manchester City form is affecting him
The £378,846-a-week tactician is usually a very composed figure when addressing the media, and rarely allows anything to get inside his head.
Guardiola even managed to refrain from saying anything about Simon Hooper after Sunday’s woeful advantage decision involving Jack Grealish.

However, the Spaniard is now coming across a little more antsy in press conferences, as he experiences one of his worst runs at Manchester City since replacing Manuel Pellegrini.
Hopefully, Guardiola can turn things around over the festive period.
