Vincent Kompany has impressed at Bayern Munich.

Eyebrows were raised when the Manchester City legend was appointed by the German giants – after he finished 19th in the Premier League with Burnley last season – but the Belgian is doing a decent job.

Bayern Munich are into the last eight of the UEFA Champions League – where Inter Milan await – while he also sits six points clear of Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the Bundesliga.

Now – however – Vincent Kompany could upset Manchester City fans, as Bayern Munich send scouts to the Etihad Stadium to keep an eye on Divine Mukasa.

Bayern Munich monitoring Divine Mukasa

Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on the 17-year-old Manchester City wonderkid as he enjoys a quite remarkable 2024/25 campaign.

Mukasa has incredibly scored 17 goals and provided 25 assists in 35 appearances in the City Football Academy so far this season, form which has alerted the Bundesliga leaders.

Ajax are also monitoring the England U18 international – although Manchester City are hoping to keep the attacking midfielder by offering him fresh terms.

Romano wrote on X (previously known as Twitter): “Bayern and Ajax have sent scouts again this month to follow Manchester City 17-year-old talent Divine Mukasa. Manchester City are planning to extend his contract to keep Mukasa at the club.”

Divine Mukasa has compared himself to Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne is leaving Manchester City this summer, but if the Bayern Munich target is to be listened to, he could well replace the Belgium international.

Mukasa has compared himself to De Bruyne – a sign of his strong self belief – telling the Manchester Evening News: “De Bruyne is similar (to his playing style) in terms of always looking to create and score goals. From the times I’ve trained with them, I’ve tried to pick up as much as I can from the way he behaves, he gives everything every day.”

It will take a lot for anybody to replicate what the Belgian has provided for Pep Guardiola over the years, but when you look at the teenager’s phenomenal amount of goal involvements this season, he could well possess the talent required to make the step up.
