Former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha has named Rodri as a player he really would not like to face from the current team.
The ex-central defender was speaking about a few players in a new video for the club’s official website.
Rodri’s importance to City has been highlighted more than ever this season. The Spaniard recently got sent off against Nottingham Forest, and the team lost all three of the games he was suspended for.
Since coming back into the team, normal service has been resumed.
One of the best things about Rodri is the way he is able to completely dictate games, something Josko Gvardiol believes he is ‘incredible’ at. Very often, he finishes matches with the most touches and most completed passes.
He is a master of dominating the midfield, and it’s easy to see why Pep Guardiola loves him so much.

Onuoha has appeared in a new feature video on the City website, where he selects players to make up his ultimate Manchester City footballer.
At one stage, he is asked for the player he’d pick as his ultimate warrior.
Onuoha was required to choose a player he played with, and one from the current side.
After picking former captain Vincent Kompany, Onuoha then chose Rodri and said: “I think about who I wouldn’t want to play against, and I would probably say Rodri. I think for as much as he’s good on the ball, he’s got a real edge to him. Rodri’s big, tough and he likes to get in the mix. Sometimes getting himself in trouble by getting himself in the mix.
“But I think he symbolises what this team stands for, and it’s not just nice football. It’s an aggression and a difficulty to play against. So I think Rodri is the warrior for me from this current City side.”
Rodri would be a nightmare to play against
It must be so difficult for players to play against someone like Rodri.
The £63 million signing is a man who can do it all. He’s one of the best short passers in the world, but also a colossus in terms of his defensive work.
And not only that, he has actually added a bit of an offensive threat to his game this term.
Without doubt, he is the best player in his position in world football at the moment. If you are somehow able to stop Rodri from playing, then you significantly increase your chances of getting something off City.
