Manchester City are taking on Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night and Wayne Rooney has given his thoughts about the tie.
Pep Guardiola’s side go into the game in red-hot form, having just beaten Leeds United 2-1 to go four points clear atop the Premier League.

That victory was City’s 10th in a row in the league.
City’s win over Leeds should have been more comfortable. Ilkay Gundogan missed a penalty which Erling Haaland had allowed him to take as he was on a hat-trick.
This was at 2-0, and Rodrigo then scored to make it 2-1.
But it was a dominant performance from City, and the scoreline should really have been a lot bigger, with Haaland missing a number of chances.
Real were also in action yesterday, and they beat Osasuna 2-1 in the Copa del Rey final.
Steve McManaman watched the game, and was not very impressed with them. He believes they need to improve ‘exponentially’ in order to beat City.

And former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has given a very bold prediction ahead of the tie.
He said in an interview with the Times: “Man City will not just beat Real Madrid in their UCL semi-final, they’ll blow them away… I just think Man City are so good that they’re on another level…”
City will be out for revenge after what happened last season.
Wayne Rooney’s predication is very bold, Real Madrid should not be underestimated in the Champions League
This is a very bold prediction from Rooney.
City are undoubtedly in amazing form right now, with all aspects of the team looking strong.
But this Real Madrid in the Champions League we are talking about.

They are 14-time European champions, and have been dominant in the Champions League over the last 10 years or so.
There is just something about the competition, so for Rooney to say City will smash the Spanish giants is definitely bold.
At the end of the day, they still have top-class players, and a world-class manager in Carlo Ancelotti.
But there is obviously potential for City to blow Real away, given how well Guardiola’s side have been playing. Hopefully, there will be no psychological struggles.
