Manchester City No.1 Ederson Moraes has lavished praise upon Stefan Ortega.
In an interview with Sky Sports, the Brazilian international was speaking about the German’s impact since his arrival in the summer of 2022.
Ederson believes that the signing of Stefan Ortega has been a successful one due to how much he pushes him and Scott Carson.

Branded as ‘exceptional’ by Pep Guardiola (via Manchester City’s official website), the Sky Blues No.2 was targeted by Bayern Munich as a potential signing this summer.
So much so that Guardiola himself admitted that it would be a ‘problem’ if City lost him to the Bundesliga winners.
As Stefan Ortega ended up staying put at Manchester City, Ederson showered him with praise.
“We all know the quality Stefan has”, he said.
“He has been able to show that in games himself. And of course, that pushes me more, it pushes Scott [Carson] as well, just as Scott pushes me and Stef. Every day, it’s about trying to be better than yesterday.”

It is clear to see that the addition of Stefan Ortega has aided Ederson, as his performances reached their absolute best in the Champions League last season.
While the five-time Premier League winner’s shotstopping was questioned during the 2021/2022 campaign, he stepped up to the plate in the previous term.
A huge reason for his upturn in form could well be Stefan Ortega, who looked like the archetypal Pep Guardiola goalkeeper as well.
And that too, from the get-go.
For starters, Ortega’s distribution is terrific, even if it is not on the former Benfica shotstopper’s level.
While in terms of saving shots, the ex-Arminia Bielefeld is absolutely incredible, as he was reliable enough to start in the FA Cup final and thrive.
