After Erling Haaland signed for Manchester City, he told Ruben Dias that Manchester City had to achieve one goal.
Dias was asking Haaland if he was buzzing after City beat Aston Villa on the final day of the 2021/2022 Premier League season in dramatic fashion.
Unsurprisingly, Haaland was content, as he perhaps would have been mortified witnessing the Sky Blues lose the title to Villa, considering he is known to be a boyhood City fan.

Despite their gut-wrenching defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League, the English giants managed to save their season by winning the title.
But Erling Haaland showcased his winning mentality as soon as he first signed for Manchester City after meeting Ruben Dias as he expressed his desire to win the Champions League in his debut season at the club.
Dias asked, as featured on the first episode of Netflix’s Together: Treble Winners documentary, “You happy?”
Erling Haaland replied, “We won, of course!”
Dias said, “No, I’m thinking about the next season already.”
Haaland replied, “Of course, it’s going to be good. It’s going to be good, it’s going to be a good time. We have to win the Champions League.”
Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak has also previously revealed that much like he said to Ruben Dias, Erling Haaland promised him right after he put to pen to paper that he would lead his club to Champions League glory.

Of course, when City signed Haaland, it would have taken a brave man to doubt why his addition would elevate them as a team.
But judging by how determined Erling Haaland was when speaking to Ruben Dias about lifting the Champions League, it is evident that Manchester City signed the perfect character in the star striker.
Naturally, the focus on superstars like the Norwegian is to discover whether they deliver on the pitch.
