Branded as ‘unreal’ by Rio Ferdinand, the manner in which the 23-year-old dovetailed with Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford was a joy to watch.

“I was so happy that Phil got his goal. I said (before the game) that you need him on the pitch because he’s such an exciting talent. His goal definitely highlighted it. We often see Foden come inside but this time he holds his position so well, and it allowed him a little bit more time on the ball to find [Jude Bellingham]”, she said.
“And don’t take anything away from the finish. The reactions he shows just to tap the ball into the net, that is a real talent. And what a talent England have in Phil Foden.”
Even Phil Foden may not realise how high his ceiling is
Jill Scott is spot on about Phil Foden, as he exhibited his class in an England shirt against Scotland.
It’s fair to say that English football have perhaps not laid its eyes on as naturally talented a footballer as him since Wayne Rooney.
Being a vital cog of one of the greatest sides of all time in Manchester City as well, whilst having played out of position for the majority of his spell at senior level, the gravity of Phil Foden’s exploits perhaps have not been fully grasped by the general public.
Having completed club football at 23 years of age whilst having being coached by Pep Guardiola for a number of years, the sky is well and truly the limit for this truly rare talent.
