Robbie Mustoe heaped praise on Oscar Bobb while breaking down Manchester City’s latest 2-0 win against Sheffield United.

The pundit highlighted Bobb’s showing on NBC Sports’ The 2 Robbies Podcast and feels like City might have another exciting young prospect on their hands.

It seems like the Manchester City wonderkid’s display against Chris Wilder’s side has well and truly caught the eye of many.

Micah Richards also lauded the Norwegian international and described him as one of the Sky Blues’ many “superstar youngsters.”

Earlier this season, Nathan Ake also praised the 20-year-old’s natural talent as well as how easily he has settled into the first-team.

“I do want to give a special little shoutout to Oscar Bobb. Now, we see him now and again. He made one of the best passes of the game where he finds Phil Foden that finds Julian Alvarez. So much quality”, he said on NBC Sports’ The 2 Robbies Podcast.

“So, Oscar Bobb is another one who comes on with his little left foot, what a talent he is! And it’s like a conveyor belt, Rob [Robbie Earle], it started with [Phil] Foden, we saw Cole Palmer, we have Oscar Bobb.”

Oscar Bobb plays like a young David Silva

As Robbie Mustoe praised the pre-assist from Oscar Bobb for Julian Alvarez’s tap-in against Sheffield United, one could not help but be reminded of David Silva upon witnessing such a clever pass.

Often, the World Cup winner would pick up such zones on the left-hand side and find runners in behind the opposition defence.

While Phil Foden has often been likened to David Silva, Oscar Bobb seems much more similar to the legendary midfielder.

Unlike Foden, who has quite a dynamic approach to his game, Bobb seems much more composed in the same vein as Silva, with him seeming much more comfortable as a controlling presence wherever he plays.

Much like the Spaniard, the highly-rated technician is adept at providing a sense of control, both in the middle of the park and out wide.

If Oscar Bobb even develops into half the player David Silva was, Manchester City supporters can count themselves lucky.
