Erling Haaland showed his faith in Jeremy Doku on Sunday as the Belgian prepared to come on for Manchester City against Huddersfield.

Club cameras managed to pick up the Manchester City No.11’s reaction to the Norwegian’s comments during the 5-0 FA Cup win on Sunday.

So, what did Erling Haaland say to Jeremy Doku? Let’s take a look…

What Haaland said to Doku

Well, the Manchester City No.9 was watching on from the sidelines as he continues his recovery from a foot problem.

However, that did not prevent Haaland from taking on the role of cheerleader, as the Norway international could be heard supporting Doku as he got his kit on.

Footage posted by Manchester City showed the Leeds-born striker saying “we’re dancing, oi we’re dancing” to the Belgian.

That was a reference to Doku’s celebration – known as the Griddy – with Haaland effectively backing his teammate to find the net once he entered the pitch.

Cameras picked up the 21-year-old looking up at Haaland with a smirk on his face.

You can see the footage below.

Haaland was spot on, as Doku went on to score just 17 minutes after replacing Jack Grealish.

Doku is back, but when will Haaland return for Manchester City?

Manchester City have managed to survive without the prolific Norwegian – who last played against Aston Villa in December – but many are still keen to have him back.

Pep Guardiola recently told reporters that Haaland – who was also spotted celebrating wildly after Phil Foden scored – is back in light training and hinted that he could even face Newcastle on Saturday.

The Evening Standard quote the Spaniard as saying: “Erling is a little better, his bone, so we need to be careful. (He has had) two or three sessions and feels good. Hopefully (he can play soon but) I don’t know for Sunday (Huddersfield) or for Newcastle.”

Therefore, it won’t be much longer until Haaland is back terrorising opposition defenders once again.
