Joshua Kimmich and Pep Guardiola could soon cross paths once again as Manchester City express a desire to sign the Bayern Munich No.6 this summer.
The Germany international has been strongly linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium as he enters the final 18 months of his contract at the Allianz Arena.
It was the Daily Star who claimed that Manchester City intend to make a £25m summer move.
With that in mind, it is worth taking a look at what Joshua Kimmich has previously said about working with Pep Guardiola for a second time…
What Kimmich has said about reuniting with Guardiola
Well, the German made 36 appearances under the Spaniard during their time together at Bayern Munich.
It was actually Guardiola who plucked Kimmich from RB Leipzig in a deal worth £6.4m back in 2015.
After Niko Kovac was sacked by Bayern Munich in 2019, Guardiola found himself in the spotlight amid rumours of a potential return to the Allianz Arena.
While that was nothing but mere paper talk, Kimmich was asked about it, and his reaction spoke volumes.

The 28-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports as saying: “I know (Guardiola) and have a lot to thank him for. He took me from the second division and let me play in the Bundesliga.
“We won the double together and after that season I became a player for Germany. So, of course, I won’t be against him coming back.”
Clearly, the Rottweil-born maestro loved his time playing under Guardiola, so a reunion simply cannot be ruled out this summer, when Kimmich will have just 12 months remaining on his contract.
