Manchester City fans will soon get to feast their eyes on Kevin De Bruyne again – and the midfielder is said to be adopting a different approach ahead of his return to action.

The Belgian maestro will soon take to the field again for City, having been on the sidelines since the first game of the season.

De Bruyne limped out of the game with Burnley on August 11, and then underwent surgery for his hamstring injury.

Initially, City managed quite well without their £55 million superstar but in more recent times, he has been badly missed.

Thankfully, he is now close to playing again having resumed training – and apparently, things will be slightly different for him when he returns…

The Athletic recently ran an article about De Bruyne and his injury, and how is going to change him.

De Bruyne is raring to go again at the Etihad, but is very keen to ensure that this injury he’s had will not inhibit him going forward.

Apparently, De Bruyne has been looking at his diet and exercise habits to try and make sure he won’t be affected.

There is also word about what De Bruyne has now decided regarding his pre-match preparations.

Normally, the star is quite relaxed and only really chats with City staff, whereas others will have lots of time with the ball and/or get massages.

Now, De Bruyne will place ‘more focus on physical preparation when he returns’, so that he can be more relaxed about things, which is what he needs in order to perform to high levels.

Hopefully the changes can preserve De Bruyne

It is interesting to read that De Bruyne will now place more focus on his physical preparations for games.

Seemingly, this injury perhaps still needs thinking about even after his return.

City fans will hope that his new approach will help to preserve and prolong his career, because he is truly a special footballer who obviously makes the team a much stronger force.

It is going to be interesting to see how he gets on following his return to match action. It’s likely patience will be required since he’s not played for so long, but hopefully he will get into his stride by the business end of the season.
