Manchester City executives are now in the process of trying to trim down the squad for Pep Guardiola, but it looks like one exit-linked ace could be staying put.
As things currently stand, Manchester City have a large squad, which is not something Pep Guardiola is a fan of.
Guardiola has admitted not liking working with a bloated squad as it means he has to leave more people out.
So a number of players could be departing in the coming days and weeks.
James McAtee is probably the most likely player to leave City, given his lack of starts last season and the high level of interest in him.
Jack Grealish will also likely be leaving City on loan.
Another player whose future has been in a lot of doubt recently is Ederson, but a big claim has been made today about the Brazilian.
Manchester City ready to keep Ederson amid Galatasaray interest

The goalkeeper situation at Manchester City has been a big talking point this summer.
Ederson was linked with an exit, then the goalkeeper dismissed exit reports as ‘fake news’.
But in recent days, speculation has picked up again, with Galatasaray thought to be keen on signing the South American stopper.
However, the Independent reports today that City are now looking to keep Ederson at the club for one more season.
As the player has just one year left on his contract, this means that City are prepared to risk losing him on a free transfer, presuming he does not sign an extension at some point in the next year.
This is interesting because Ederson is said to have agreed personal terms with Galatasaray, indicating he is ready to make that move.
But City’s stance is seemingly not one that’ll make this move easy for him.
James Trafford remains an option to replace Ederson
While City are now keen to keep hold of Ederson, James Trafford remains someone they are looking at.
It is not out of the question that Ederson turns around and really starts agitating for the move to Gala.
If that does happen, City’s hand may be forced a little. It’s not good to keep players who don’t really want to be at the club, so Trafford is still a target.
It is thought Trafford would prefer a move to City over Newcastle United, who have also been showing strong interest.
It will certainly be interesting to see how Gala now respond, if City are indeed now keen to retain Ederson for one more season.
