Manchester City seem to be pulling out all the stops to sign Florian Wirtz in the summer.
So much so that Manchester City made an offer to sign Wirtz as they are competing with Bayern Munich to secure his services.
With Kevin De Bruyne set to leave the Etihad Stadium in the summer, Manchester City want to sign a number 10 to replace the legendary attacking midfielder.
Florian Wirtz certainly fits the bill as the 21-year-old has proven during his time at Bayer Leverkusen that he is already a world-class player.

Man City will not give up in Florian Wirtz race unless he signs for Bayern Munich
Wirtz’s girlfriend fancies Manchester City as her partner’s next destination as Pep Guardiola’s men are undoubtedly in the race to sign him.
However, the Sky Blues’ primary competitors in their pursuit to pull off what could be European football’s most high-profile move are Bayern Munich.
But journalist Florian Plettenburg has now revealed that Manchester City are not willing to “give up” in their pursuit to sign Wirtz unless he puts pen to paper and becomes a Bayern player.
The German international’s future remains uncertain, as he is yet to commit his future to both clubs by signing a pre-contract.
However, a major boost for Manchester City is that Wirtz and his family jetted off to Manchester to hold transfer talks, a trip that was approved by Bayer Leverkusen.
While Bayern are still “hopeful” of signing the in-demand technician and, ideally before the FIFA Club World Cup, Leverkusen’s preference is to sell him to a foreign club.
Man City’s record of signing Bundesliga players
Wirtz is open to playing abroad as his latest trip to Manchester might suggest that he is warming up to the idea of becoming a City player.
Germany is a trusted market for Manchester City anyway, having signed several players from the Bundesliga in the past.
18 players have made the move from the German top-flight to Manchester City.

Wirtz could end up being Manchester City’s 19th signing from the Bundesliga if he says yes to a move.
Considering the likes of Vincent Kompany, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Erling Haaland went on to become club legends while others such as Edin Dzeko, Manuel Akanji and Josko Gvardiol have fared well, the signs look increasingly positive this time around as well.
